Hello!

My name is JP. I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based in Philadelphia, PA, specializing in brand identity, custom typography, hand lettering, and package design. I love to draw, cut and glue things, Xerox copy them, and screen print them. I vector hand drawn illustrations, create my own fonts, and have designed everything from coffee bags and guitar pics, to billboards and stage banners.

Since I was a kid, I have also been drumming in bands—including the bands Beach Slang, Worriers, Ex Friends, No Summer, and Weston. I currently play drums in Bug Heaven and Lax Poetic. My lifelong participation in music informs my design sensibility and approach. Especially when I’m drawing and designing for other bands.

In 2021, I co-founded Sparkwell Design Studio with my beautiful and immensely talented wife Nicole Saltzer. We are a boutique branding and design studio. The two of us also started Sparkwell Press, a print studio where Nicole and I hand draw and hand screen print greeting cards, paper goods, and limited edition fine art prints that are sold and enjoyed all over the world.
